Reaching up to grab the propeller on his biplane, Jim muttered “contact” and hoped he’d put the carburetor back together properly. He could see the Sheriff’s car as it made it’s way across the neighboring field.  That likely meant June Ann had spilled the beans about the fun they’d had last night and her preacher father was planning a hasty church wedding for this afternoon. Nothing wrong with this little town, except Jim’s world needed be a bit bigger.  Besides, another preacher with a different daughter in another town had prophesized that Jim would be struck by lightning if he ever set foot in a church again And Jim did not want to chance that.
